Job Summary-Grounds Supervisor the Grounds Supervisor leads the team responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the lagoon’s amenities and keeping all land areas of the lagoon clean and well organized including the beaches, common areas, and buildings.  Work will be performed primarily outdoors.  This is a hands-on position, and the successful candidate will both direct and participate in tasks with his or her team.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Responsible for leading the grounds team that performs the following tasks: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, managing trash, pressure washing, hosing, cleaning restroom facilities, and resetting furniture.
  • Creates schedules, prepares, and reviews reports, checklists, and other paperwork.
  • Collaborates with vendors involved in the routine cleaning of the lagoon grounds.
  • Assesses employees’ progress: coaches with positive reinforcement and disciplines, when necessary, fairly and consistently
  • Provides and models excellent customer service.
  • Manages daily budget hours and works with leadership to revise and develop changes as needed.
  • Assists staff with lifting and storing facility equipment, furniture, and products to help maintain facility and prepare for special events.
  • Develops and maintains accurate department maintenance procedures and checklists through routine preventative maintenance logs.
  • Maintains a monthly inventory of supplies, equipment, and or products. Orders all grounds supplies.
  • Provides excellent customer service and monitors guest feedback. Supervises and follows up on department’s guest requests and comments.
  • Other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • High School diploma
  • Minimum one-year supervisory experience
  • Minimum two years’ experience in a maintenance/custodial position
  • Ability to obtain CPR, First Aid & AED certifications.
  • Must be available to work mornings, nights, holidays, and weekends. (Flexible schedule hours will vary)
  • Efficient, well organized, and able to handle a variety of duties simultaneously.
  • Professional manner, discretion, and appearance.
  • Strong leadership/managerial skills with the ability to lead, motivate, and communicate with staff members. The ability to adapt to change, including adherence to strict budget and labor guidelines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions for extended periods of time.
